CREMA COFFEE ROASTERS - NASHVILLE, TN

Crema had been in contact with me over the past few years about a possible mural project at their flagship location in downtown Nashville, TN. Amidst a lot of travel and schedules, it never came to fruition but that’s because I was really supposed to create a piece at their new roasting and store front location in North Nashville. Crema had expressed interest in my more greyscale organic geometric gradient work and immediately saw the vision on what should go into the 1 story historic neighborhood building.

Their aesthetic is all about simplicity, white, warm colored woods and grey with pops of red (like the coffee bean)

I created a piece that evokes Crema’s aesthetic giving the space depth, dimension and movement utilizing 8 shades of greyscale with a pop of red.

Crema’s mission:

“Our mission is to expand the number of people who share our belief that the coffee experience is an unparalleled adventure from seed to cup. And we are devoted to inspiring happiness through doing good for each person we meet along the way.”

Crema relationally sources coffee from farmers they know and trust:

“They are our friends, fellow coffee fanatics, trusted partners in the unfathomably complex story of coffee going from the plant to your cup. Our calling, then, is to honor our farmers and friends by paying them well, roasting their coffee in a way that honors its history and nuance, and serving the coffee with gratitude, acknowledging our place in this family of coffee.”

There are hints of hills, mountains, rock and soil amongst abstract geometrics that were inspired by Crema’s travels to Costa Rica & Panama.
